In our house we have two male cats, that were fed twice a day. They used to engulf there food without seeming to take a breath. We decided to look into ways of encouraging them to slow down. The first thing we tried was separating them into different rooms. This worked but they still ate quickly. Wishing our cats got more exercise in the winter we decided to give this product a try. It took a few times for the cats to get used to the concept of having to work for their food but we have been able to progressively choose smaller wholes. Instead of taking them 2min to eat their entire meal it has now slowed them down and they actually leave food behind for later. This product has worked great. Having an adjustable piece to change the size of the wholes from SUPER easy to fairly challenging allows the cats plenty of ease in learning how to use it.

I would recommenced this for anyone who's cats compete for food or eat to fast. Also for overweight cats "as ours are".
